Operation Safe Driver Week: A Commitment to Road Safety

C&W Trucking is proud to support the CVSA's Operation Safe Driver Week, which takes place from July 7-13, 2024. This annual event, organized by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), aims to improve the behavior of all drivers on the road, with a particular focus on commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers. The initiative highlights the importance of safe driving practices and aims to reduce the number of crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving large trucks and buses.

During Operation Safe Driver Week, law enforcement agencies across North America will be on high alert, conducting traffic stops and inspections to identify unsafe driving behaviors. These behaviors include speeding, distracted driving, failure to wear seat belts, following too closely, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Both CMV drivers and passenger vehicle drivers will be under scrutiny to ensure compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations.

The theme for this year’s Operation Safe Driver Week is "Speeding Slows You Down," emphasizing the dangers of speeding and its impact on road safety. Speeding is a leading cause of crashes and fatalities on the road, and this campaign aims to educate drivers about the risks and encourage them to adopt safer driving habits.
